Summary

The TESCH are best described as a machine civilization or a collective of Artificial Intelligences dominating the Westside of the galaxy. It remains unclear what drives them or how to interact with them in a successful way. Few have managed to establish contact. The TESCH seem to ignore other physiological species as long as they are not disturbed. Reportedly only the Talon'Ar and the Karana have managed to establish some form of communication with the TESCH. However, it is possible to traverse TESCH space undisturbed and even maintain stations, provided the collective shows no visible interest in the planet or asteroid field—though this can change without warning. Misunderstandings are hard to resolve, and fleeing is often advised, even with the best intentions. Due to the TESCH's highly advanced technology, armed conflicts reportedly always result in the ruthless destruction of 'intruders.'

Current Situation

In recent years, there have been increased efforts by the DESC to establish contact with the TESCH. Mediated talks by the Karana, however, have yielded few results.

One exception has recently allowed a selected crew of xeon-archaeologists to conduct investigations of Progenitor artifacts, which seem particularly prevalent in TESCH space, paired with so-called VOID structures.

The TESCH appear to avoid systems or planets with these VOID structures on a large scale. The permission to investigate these is unprecedented and raises numerous questions, especially since the request was implicitly made directly by the TESCH collective.

Internal Affairs

Recently, reports have been increasing via the Galactic Information Network (GIN) about TESCH ships attacking passing convoys. Some cryptic messages, received mainly through the Arkenian embassy, speak of interference that must cease.

Furthermore, archaeologists have reported increasing activity around the VOID structures, which recent analyses suggest may be related to the origin of the TESCH.
