Summary

The so-called Free Colonists are a mixed group of adventurers, explorers, runaways, and others who seek freedom or a new home outside the faction-controlled space for all conceivable reasons. This faction, more seen as a movement, is fostered by the DESC's deep space colonization program.

There is no claim of representation or administrative organization, but some larger colonies have sent "spokespersons" to the DESC to advocate for the general concerns of the colonies in deep space, regardless of their species.

Current Situation

At the time of the game, there are hundreds or even thousands of new large and small colonies that are supplied through various means and depend more or less on their home factions or DESC assistance.

Internal Affairs

In recent months, there have been increasing reports of colonies suddenly becoming unreachable. Some of these colonies, according to reports, have disappeared with all their inhabitants without any visible violence. Investigations revealed no signs of external influence. Consequently, the cases were closed with the reasoning that the galaxy is vast and even a trek of ships heading to a better place is hardly traceable.
